| Eloise Virginia Palmer Miller, “Peasey” passed from her worldly life on March 2, 2010. A lifelong resident of Nicholson she had spent the past nineteen years at the BJC Nursing facility where she became a blessing to many of the workers and other residents. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, J.B. Miller. She was also preceded in death by a brother James R. “Spud” Palmer. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Clara Palmer of Nicholson and dearly loved her stepmother Almera.
She spent her working life in textile manufacturing but enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She always loved spending time with the people she loved and a stranger was just a friend she hadn’t met yet. She is survived by her daughter Gloria Jean (Jimmy) Ford of Nicholson; grandchildren Angie (Judd) Wilkes of Moody, AL and Teresa (Paul) Scogin of Statham, GA; and great-grandchildren Joshua Palmer Wilkes, Sarah Rivers Wilkes, Anna Claire Wilkes, John Bryan Wilkes, Paulina Kelsey Scogin, and Angela Paige Scogin. She is also survived by four sister Frances Haggard of Nicholson, Ethelyn “Tootsie” Waters of Louisville, KY, Nell Shope of Nicholson, Dorothy “Dolly Jean” Smith of Nicholson, and a dear sister-in-law Frances Palmer of Nicolson. Funeral services will be at 2 pm, Thursday, March 4 at the River of Life Worship Center with Rev. Bobby Ivester, Rev. Marty Smith and Rev. Mike Stowers officiating. Interment will follow in Howington Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday night from 6 to 9 pm. |
